The Lessons Learned

I'm copying my post from my other blog.

The seventh letter has been delivered. Revelations 3:14-22
"To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Even if this isn't literally the situation, it sure does fit, and the lesson that God was trying to get across in this passage is the lesson that we are to learn from this election. The American churches are lukewarm. We tell God that we are rich (look at the HUGE church buildings with all their fancy technology) and that we have acquired wealth and do not need a thing (I'll work for my money, food and home and when I need extra for my iPhone I'll pray for it.) While houses get bigger and churches get bigger, the money going to missionaries and to support ministries that help people and preach the Word are declining. Pastors go blue in the face preaching about tithing to the church, but their words remain unheeded. God has stood by patiently and shown us mercy. But He promised in His Word that there would be persecution. The American church has never felt persecution - until now. We are going to see persecution such as the church in Acts. And in order to prevent being spat from God's mouth, we must go through the Refiner's fire. It will be painful, but when the Big C Christians come out on the other side and the little c christians are left in a puddle of ashes, God will take the gold that remains and the world will see a church that is on FIRE for God. May we all repent with our faces to the ground, and then put on the Armour of God and go out and FIGHT!

May God have mercy on us.
Blessings.
